Cape Town's cultural landscape is about to get a twist—literally and figuratively—with the opening of the Museum of Illusions on Saturday, 31 May 2025, at 10 Kloof Street, Gardens. This exciting new attraction brings interactive exhibits, mind-bending illusions, and a fun learning experience for all ages.
This is the second Museum of Illusions to open in South Africa and the 61st globally, joining world-famous venues in New York, Paris, and Dubai. According to What’s On in Cape Town, the Cape Town edition is expected to be a major tourism magnet.
🌀 A New Dimension of Edutainment
Founded in Zagreb, Croatia in 2015, the Museum of Illusions concept is all about immersive, sensory-defying experiences. With over 60 interactive exhibits, visitors can explore the power and limits of human perception.
Highlights include:
Tilted Room – defy gravity as your brain battles your eyes.
Infinity Room – step into a dazzling chamber of mirrors.
Clone Table – recreate yourself six times over!
Each exhibit is based on real science, illusionary art, and psychology, giving it an "edutainment" flair that appeals to both children and adults. As Getaway Magazine puts it: “It’s as educational as it is disorienting.”
